On Monday 11th August 2025 the worst possible thing happened. Our familiar wooden hut, home to generations of young scouts since 1967, was destroyed in an arson attack and we lost everything.
Inside was all the equipment we relied on for everything. Camping equipment, generators, buoyancy aids, paddles, boats and nearly 100 years of history. It was absolutely devastating.
The local fire service attended the fire and worked tirelessly for us and managed to save our new building but we lost everything that was in our existing Scout Hut.
The local community has been amazing in supporting us and we are now raising funds to finish our new building but we are a long way off our target.
